自古孕育這片土地之濁水溪由鹿港出海，流轉於滄海桑田歷史時光中，鹿東國小誕生在這人文薈萃的鹿港小鎮，學校透過課程與教學，培養具主動探究、勇於行動及不斷創新的鹿港囝仔。
藉由「鹿東ACE，全力YES」課程，讓孩子領略與感受鹿港文化的內涵，他們會更熱愛自己的家鄉文化！讓孩子長期以自然山野為師，進而建構人文山林與生活學習能力！喚醒學生對家鄉文化的認同外，更希望藉由系列性的校訂特色課程與活動，增進學生學習興趣，提升自信心與成就感，讓鹿東孩子接軌未來，成為「真(Energy活力)、善(Communication溝通)、美(Aesthetics美感)」的『鹿港新文化人』。

Ludong Elementary School began preparing for a school's
establishment in July 1995. The first phase of the school building
was completed in July 1998, and enrollment was officially
launched on August 1 of the same year. In the early days of the
school's establishment, only the first to fifth grades were
enrolled, totaling twenty-one classes. This year is the 25th year
since the establishment of the school. After the re-planning of
the school district in recent years, the school teachers have lively
teaching methods, and the students have performed well.
Therefore, the number of classes has increased yearly. At
present, the number of classes in the school has been expanded
to fifty-eight classes and one kindergarten class, with nearly
1,800 teachers and students. With the old building from the
1998 establishment and the increasing number of students, the
first campus has insufficient learning space. To improve the
quality of education, numerous personnel and departments help
led to the establishment of the second campus today.
